Hosiery is what takes an outfit from "wow" to "OMG."
A little primer on our hosiery:
- Stockings is the generic word we use to describe all our hosiery, however, officially, a “stocking” is a garment that goes up to the mid-thigh, and needs to be worn with garter straps. It does not have silicone at the top to hold it up.
- Thigh-Highs, or Stay-Ups are both official terms for the hosiery that goes up to the mid-thigh, and stays up on their own, with a silicone band at the top. These are the most popular style that we currently carry. There are many variations within this category, from sheer to opaque, from banded to lace top, and more.
- Denier is the term for how sheer vs. opaque the hosiery is. The higher the number, the less sheer it is. So 08 is VERY very fine and sheer, and 50 is very opaque. 20 is our most popular denier, it’s sheer, but not too thin.
- Tights is the term for hosiery that goes all the way up to the waist.
Stockings turn any set into a complete outfit. Wearing them with a garter belt is the most classic look, but we LOVE the look of Stay-Ups paired with any bra and panty, or bralette and panty set. We also love them paired with a bodysuit.
For tights, in addition to the traditional way of wearing them, they are honestly pretty fun to layer as an outfit with panties on top, letting the waistband show while paired with a bra, or, under a bodysuit.
However you decide to wear stockings, throw on a pair of heels and you’re an instant smokeshow.
