Here are a few tips to get a good night's sleep this fall & winter:

 

Tip 1: Consistent Sleep Schedule

Our best tip for getting a good night’s sleep starts with getting into a consistent sleep schedule. To get good sleep, it’s important to be consistent and try to go to sleep and wake up at the same time each day, even on weekends. Research shows that adults should be going to sleep in the fall and winter around 10-11pm every night.

Tip 3: Understand Your Sleep Temperature

Take note of your temperature when you sleep—if you’re always cold, shop for long sleeve shirts and pants combos. If you’re always hot, you can wear a chemise, sleepshirt, or shorts and cami combos. It’s important to understand your sleep temperature to make sure you’re wearing the appropriate nightwear that will help you get the best results. Tip 4: Minimize Screen Time Before Bed

Most people don’t want to hear this, but it makes a difference when you charge and put your phone and electronics away from your bed to minimize late-night distractions. Not to mention, the light from these screens can make it hard for you to fall asleep.

 

 

Tip 5: Develop a Bedtime Routine

Start winding down about an hour before bed with a calming activity like reading, taking a bath, knitting or crafting, or listening to music. This will help your mind relax and body be put at ease before going to sleep. Set aside no less than eight hours for sleep. The recommended amount of sleep for a healthy adult is at least seven hours

 

 

Tip 6: Avoid Alcohol & Caffeine Before Bed

This one is a no-brainer! Both alcohol and caffeine affect the mind and prevent you from entering a restful state before sleeping. Evening caffeine can keep you up late at night and stays in your system for a while. Best to stay away from caffeinated and alcoholic drinks before bed so you can get the best sleep.
